Lynn Bushell is Vice President Audience Development for Lebhar-Friedman,
Inc. where she oversees 10 print publications, 37 e-newsletters,
list rental and the rights/reprints business, as well as sales and
marketing for a pharmacists’ continuing education program.
Prior to joining Lebhar-Friedman over 14 years ago, Lynn was Vice
President of Circulation for Cowles Business Media where she was
responsible for 8 print publications, including Folio:,
the Folio: database and a book division that published
over 40 titles. She was also responsible for launching the first
fax newsletter Folio First Day.
Over the years she has been a member of several industry committees
and boards. She is an active member and past chair of the Audit
Bureau of Circulations (ABC) Business Industry Committee and was
a driving force in developing the ABC Multimedia Publisher’s
Statement and one of two to first release this statement.
Commented one of her colleagues: “Status-quo is unknown to
Lynn! She fosters an atmosphere where brainstorming and new ideas
are always welcome. She’s ever-aware of deadlines and always
meets them. Her contemporaries as well as her team respect her dedication,
fairness and assertiveness.”

| Sylvia Sierra, Senior VP of Corporate Audience Development for Access
Intelligence, LLC, has been at Access Intelligence for 12 years, and
is responsible for 14 magazines, two paid directories and eight Web
sites. Her staff of 16 is charged with audience development covering
magazine circulation, Web traffic, SEM, SEO, e-letters, Webinars,
podcasts and job boards. In addition, she is responsible for list
sales, co-registration programs, fulfillment, distribution, e-mail
operations and customer service departments.
Sylvia has taken an
approach to reorganize staff around a brand, with dotted line responsibility
to the management of the brand added to the organizational chart.
This, she says, has provided the best of both worlds: management
structure, cost containment and sharing of best practices with the
advantage of market knowledge and ideas.
She is a member of the BPA Audience Development Advisory Committee,
has been named a Circulation Management All-Star and is the recipient
of the Audience Development Innovators Award from B to B Media Magazine
in 2008.

| Christine Oldenbrook is Director of Marketing and E-Media at Bobit
Business Media, Torrance CA, where she oversees 19 print publications,
21 web sites, 9 trade shows, 18 e-newsletters and 11 e-directories
for industries ranging from beauty to transportation.
Prior to joining Bobit, she was Vice President of Audience Marketing
for Primedia, where she was responsible for 75 titles. She has also
held executive positions with 101 Communications and Highline Media.
Christine also serves on several industry boards and committees,
including the Western Fulfillment Managers Association, BPA Circulation
Managers Advisory Committee and the Circulation/Audience Development
Committee of American Business Media.
A frequent industry speaker, she is the epitome of what NTCFI and
the ARV Award stand for – serving as a mentor to younger circulators
and being proactive in keeping the circulation function in the forefront
of new industry developments, such as e-products and Web performance
metrics. In a recent article in Circulation Management magazine,
Christine gave this advice, “If you leave it to the Web department
or some other department you WILL be left behind, and that will
prove to be devastating to your career.”

Jane O’Connor is Manager of Professional Development,
American Business Media.O’Connor established the Professional Development
Division at ABM in 2003. Since then several thousand people have participated
in ABM’s development programs. She works with 20 professional committees
and five industry councils to develop and execute the education programs.
“Our goal was to have 100% member participation in the programs,”
O’Connor said. ”A big part of our agenda recently has been to help
our members better understand complex industry regs such as those
involving faxing and CanSpam.”
Before joining ABM, O’Connor held a similar position with BPA Worldwide.
She began her career in the trade publishing industry at Firehouse

| John Rockwell is Director of Paid Circulation for Primedia Business
Magazines & Media, where he is responsible for maintaining and
expanding the paid circulation of Primedia’s music and financial
services publications.
Previously, Rockwell was VP Operations at Paperloop, Inc., where
he and his production, circulation, IT and facilities team members
managed and oversaw all aspects of Paperloop’s magazine, newsletter,
online and research infrastructure. This included oversight of Paperloop’s
subscription-based Web sites, coordinating print production, maintaining
the company’s IT infrastructure and handling all back-end
delivery and fulfillment systems.
Prior to joining Paperloop, Rockwell was Corporate Circulation
Director for San Francisco-based Miller Freeman, Inc. His 83-person
staff managed the circulation and databases of more than 90 magazines,
weekly newspapers, newsletters and subscription-based Web sites.
Before coming to Miller Freeman, Inc. in 1993, Rockwell was Marketing
Director for the Metals Publishing Group of Chilton Publications
and Circulation Director at Fairchild Publications in New York.

Maurice Persiani is Vice President of Business
Services for the McGraw-Hill Companies. In his current role, he is
responsible for circulation fulfillment, list management, and worldwide
field sales, for all b-to-b properties. His added responsibilities
include leading audience development for McGraw-Hill Construction,
and acting as an internal consulting on various projects for the Aviation,
Energy and Healthcare groups within the Information and Media Services
division.
His career at McGraw-Hill began in 1974. After completing the financial
management training program, he began making his mark in circulation,
as the Circulation Sales Budget Manager, coordinating the planning
process of all McGraw-Hill magazines. He was later promoted to General
Manager of Field Sales, in which he was responsible for 150 subscription
sales reps in 80+ countries.
By 1988, Maurice was again promoted to Group Circulation Director
of the Process Industries Group, which included titles such as Chemical
Week, Chemical Engineering, Modern Plastics and Textile World. His
success leading this group led to his promotion to Vice President
of Circulation in 1993, overseeing all B-to-B magazine divisions,
including Aviation Week, Computer and Communications, Healthcare,
and the Science & Technology group.
During his career, he has managed a diverse group of magazines, newsletters,
and web initiatives in a variety of markets, while contributing to
the leadership that The McGraw-Hill Companies enjoys in each of the
key markets it serves.
Mauice has also been very active in the b-to-b circulation community.
He has been an active member of the Audit Bureau of Circulations (ABC)
Industry Committee, and chaired this committee during a time of significant
change, which included changes to paid circulation 50% guidelines
and web/electronic circulation reporting. |

Francis Heid has been VP, Publishing Operations, at Advanstar Communications
since June 1997. He is also currently a member of the Board of Directors of BPA
International, a global circulation auditing service. Prior to vice-presidency,
he had been Advanstar's Corporate Circulation Director for two years and had
held other circulation positions at Advanstar going back to 1987. He was named
one of Advanstar's Chairman's Award winners in both 1999 and 2000. Advanstar
Communications publishes 105 publications and directories and produces 80 trade
shows and conferences. Francis has earned a Master's Degree in English
Literature from Columbia University and has completed an Executive Development
Program at the Kellogg School of Northwestern University.
